Attorney David Cutner will explain why it is essential for older or disabled people to do long-term care planning, and how important it is for your clients or patients — particularly those who need or may soon need long-term care — to protect themselves and their assets during their lifetimes. He will also explain the legal strategies used to help keep their assets working for them as long as possible.
The main goal is to preserve and protect the money they have, so they can live out their lives safely and comfortably. In the end, advance planning may also make it more likely that they will be able to leave a legacy that benefits their spouses, heirs, and other beneficiaries.
New York’s Medicaid program – often an integral part of clients’ long-term care plans – is currently undergoing significant changes due to budget pressures. The implementation schedule continues to be fluid, due to the ongoing pandemic. Mr. Cutner will give an update on the changes, and on when they are scheduled to take effect.
This course will provide 2.0 CEU credits to Licensed Social Workers, and will be held via Zoom interactive meeting. Other Lamson & Cutner CE courses will be scheduled soon.
Lamson & Cutner’s interesting and useful CE Courses explain what you need to know about Estate Planning, Elder Law and Disability Planning. Professionals who deal with older adults or disabled clients, in particular, can benefit from this valuable, concrete information. Numerous attendees have also found the courses useful for their own personal family situations.
The material is presented in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Partner David Cutner feels that educating professionals about the ways that they can help their clients to protect themselves is an important part of the firm’s outreach.
Learn about these laws and opportunities from the first law firm authorized by the NY State Department of Education to grant CE credits to Social Workers for Elder Law courses.
